En Provence - Clue 5

The 5th clue arrived Thursday night as a special gift for us and still it was Saturday before I began working on mine.  As we needed only 64 pieces it didn't take long before I finished them and could turn my attention to the Holiday ahead.

En Provence clue 4

I have discovered that Thursday is now the longest day of the week . . .it never seems to end. FINALLY . . . Friday has reared it's head and now I can get my next clue for En Provence . . .Yeah!
Looking forward to today's clue so I can make my way one step closer to having a completed quilt.

For my neutrals in this block I picked fabrics that represented spring and winter.

For pictures of this clue, other than mine, you can go here.  It is nice to know I am not the only person in the world sewing at any given time.

EN PROVENCE clue 3

Clue # 3 arrived and I couldn't wait to dig in and get it finished.  I can't believe how much I have accomplished by working only on weekends on this quilt.    Keep watching and before you know it I will have all the clues done and the quilt complete.

Although this is my first mystery quilt it will not be my last.  I AM HOOKED . . . Thanks Bonnie K. Hunter for letting us sew with you.  Clue 3
Ignore the hanger, Twiggy has found she likes chewing on these as much as water bottles. LOL

CHRISTMAS 2016

Made a small quilted bag for the gift exchange with my quilting group.  It was a big hit and I was glad it was a desired gift.

Made this bag for Georgie, she saw mine and loved it, her favorite color is orange so both of our bags were made with one jelly roll.  The great part is the jelly roll was free from Piece of Mind Quilting Group.

This surprise gift is going to April Dawn...I know she will be surprised...hope she loves it.

Here is the Christmas pillow I made with scraps from my quilt group...

Thought I would add a picture of our fearless leader at Piece of Mind quilting group at GHS . . . Sammie Tate aka...Mrs. Clause.

En Provence clue 2

I was so busy sewing clue 2 that I forgot to post.  I finished this week's blocks by Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed myself.
I placed the new blocks with the ones from last week to make stars. As of yet I do not know where each block will be placed but am happy with how well the colors work together.

Ready for clue 2...
I thought I would fall behind with only a week between clues but find myself sitting on my hands waiting . . . waiting . . .  waiting . . .

The colors look great together and I know the finished quilt will be magnificent.  I think it will make a beautiful wedding gift for a great niece who has recently become engaged.

Here is a picture of my 4 patches in neutrals. I am looking forward to the next clue but will not finish as quick because of time.  I have enjoyed sewing during my 4 day weekend and would like to thank Bonnie Hunter and the girls at Piece of Mind for keeping me motivated.

Family Crossword Puzzle Quilt

I started appliqueing the letters for this quilt in 2013 and worked on most of them during my lunch time at Cancer Centers of the Carolinas.   Off and on for 3 years I would pick up this project and finally finished piecing it on 20 Nov 2016. It is full of words that have something to do with my 2 sons and myself.

Aunt Doris's Quilt

May 5, 2015

Aunt Doris always told me she didn't want any flowers placed on her grave when she died.  She said, "If you can't give me flowers while I am here to enjoy them then don't give them to me after I am gone."  I try every year to give her flowers and I hope she enjoys them to the fullest.  I gave her this Quilt to keep her warm on those cold Ohio nights. Love you Aunt Doris and hope you enjoy these flowers for a long time.

My favorite aunt...                                       Aunt Doris loving her new quilt.
Patricia Sinclair, Doris McMullen, Paul Roof, Ed Roof

While in Ohio I also stopped by to give a duplicate quilt to a good friend.
